Something tells me God's not real.
I'm sorry, that's just the way I feel.
I cannot believe in Him
and I will not sing your religious hymn.

I respect the things that you believe,
so please don't start calling me naïve
for thinking in a different way
and refusing to kneel down and pray.

I tried for a while; I tried to believe,
but to me it only did deceive,
and helped, in fact, proof Him false.
I no longer dance a religious waltz.

Atheism makes sense to me.
For once I feel spiritually free
to believe what I want to
and not listen to the preacher's view.

I'm all about creativity
but it just seems to me
that this myth of supreme glory
is just a complex bedtime story.

They made it all up and wrote it all down,
and told the story to the whole town.
Desperate for answers, they nodded their heads,
and that night they kneeled by their beds.

The truth is that nobody knows,
but with the path that I chose,
I can easily acknowledge
that we'll never have that knowledge.

I don't pretend I have the truth,
because, throughout my youth,
I was taught not to lie,
not even about the man in the sky.

I'm sorry if you don't agree,
but if so, why don't you plea;
pray to God I'll see the way
and join your church another day.
"If you believe there is a God, blame Him for making me an atheist." ~Unknown

Just a little piece I wrote about my views on religion/God.
Trust me, there's plenty more where this came from.

Enjoy
